Fog lifts, clouds break, storms pass and sunshine follows rain

Everyone has a unique COVID-19 story. We may never truly know or fully understand the difficulties others have faced. Our students, staff and families have endured many changes, challenges, and disruptions.

This past year and the year to come, promoting mental and spiritual well-being has been and will continue to be an important part of our work.

Through this pandemic

  • We learned family matters and to not take for granted the gift of being together
  • We embraced our relationship with God in new and different ways
  • We discovered innovative and creative ways to use technology to connect with one another
  • We incorporated physical and mental health practices into our daily routines
  • We gained a greater appreciation of nature, the outdoors and the beauty of a sunset
  • We rediscovered the peace and joy of an evening walk

As the school year comes to a close, I take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the work of all our staff, students and families in being there for one another. We listened and shared experiences. We gave each other the benefit of good intentions. We provided each other much needed hope and optimism at times we needed it most.

Someone once said, “Fog lifts, clouds break, storms pass and sunshine follows rain”. In the year to come, as we emerge from the clutches of COVID, let us take with us the lessons we learned and the wisdom we earned from our COVID journey.

“There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm.”

Willa Cather
